Interviewer: What an adoring legacy that you have! What do people say to you when you go out there and sign autographs?
altaltLeonard Nimoy: "Sign this for me, please." (Laughing)
Sign my poster, sign my hand, sign my arm. ..."

altI: And how many of those do you think you  have signed in your career?

LN: Oh, oh, many, many. Many, many. I tell you: When I was a little kid hanging around outside theatres looking for autographs, if somebody gave me an autograph I was very grateful. If somebody didn't I said to myself: 'Some day if somebody asks me for an autograph I'm gonna do it.' And I have signed thousands because I made that pledge. (Laughing)  Interviewer: That's fantastic. You do remember the hurts who won't sign your autograph?
Leonard: Yeah, the hurts.

The interviewer: How sweet of you, thank you!

Did you ever know that Star Trek would endure as long as it has? How many years is it going on?

alt

Leonard Nimoy: Coming up to about 47 years. In three years we'll be celebrating our 50th anniversary of the baby of the show. Yeah, it is amazing, we could not have predicted that.

alt

Well, we've had resurrections at various times and actually 'Star Wars' and George Lucas helped us a lot because in 1977 when 'Star Wars' opened it was such a big hit, Paramount decided to go with some 'Star Trek' movies. And that put us back on the map.
Interviewer: How do you think you would look in 3D?
Leonard Nimoy: I don't know. I hope that ...
Susan Bay Nimoy: Bigger and better! (laughing)
Interviewer: That's right! 'Bigger and better' - I like that! (laughing)
Leonard Nimoy: We're going to see it pretty soon, we haven't seen the film yet.
Interviewer: I like that, I must say you're looking great, I love the longer hair and everything. Would you tell the age because you look ..?
altLeonard Nimoy: My age? I'm 82.
The interviewer raises her hand and "elevates" Leonard: 82 years old and going strong!
Leonard: Going strong.

altInterviewer: Can you show me the ... (trying to spread her fingers to form the Vulcan Salute) ... alt Leonard gives a hand... : Hold your fingers, that's right, that's it. You got it!

Interviewer: Right!
Loenard: You're a Vulcan :)
Interviewer: Right, I'm a Vulcan. (laughing)
